“Ocean” Cracked, “Elixir” Freed # 30

Meaning is a “space shuttle” for “Journey back”.

If comfort was the answer, then we’ve been gone a long, long time. But, we didn’t. Meaning was never built to feel calm. It’s built to practice – “out of time” experience. Once you get comfortable in your life, you lose track of this experience.

Now, this is important!

Why something happened (personal loss, illness, or any other challenge) is the first step towards finding a purpose. Get over it. Or, go “under – land”. What’s down there? It’s hard to imagine. Solitary adventures are never cool- should you want to.

But here’s the rub. The poet says: “Hi, boys. How’s your meaning working?” And the boys look at each other and say: “what the hell is he talking about?”

  7. Author, psychiatrist, and holocaust survivor, Viktor Frankl wrote in “Man’s Search for Meaning” that we can derive meaning from work, love, and suffering.

The Bible instructs us that suffering — which human beings naturally abhor — produces perseverance, perseverance produces character, and character produces hope. This seeming contradiction results from the fact that those who believe in God learn, despite suffering, that they can trust Him. God upholds us during suffering, and will often use it to a good purpose. Our suffering, also, enables us to comfort others who are undergoing similar trials.

  8. This is something very similar to what I’m writing about in the 2 last articles.
I started this subject last year, but then mom passed away and I had to take a break. Now returning to it.
Your article really resonates with that.
It’s great somebody is saying things that are ancient knowledge, but lost in the nowadays materialism and ignorance.

  9. Deepak Singh says:

I am very sorry for your loss. Later in my life, I saw the difference a meaning can make. But, at the start it was slow and painful. Now, I think what else can a person get in the desert. And, suddenly things look better.🙂
